Carbon Aceh Pte Ltd (“Carbon Aceh or the Company”) is pleased to announce that PT PEMA Aceh Carbon the JV company recently established in partnership between the Company and PT Pembangunan Aceh, the enterprise owned by the Government of Aceh, has been invited to present details of the Arun Carbon Capture and Storage (“Arun CCS”) project at the B20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia.

The B20 Summit is the official G20 dialogue forum with the global business community. The B20 Summit officially conveys its final recommendation to the G20 which takes place back-to-back with the B20 Summit. The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced (8-11-22) that “The G20 countries have agreed to accelerate energy transition including to ensure achievement of the sustainable global development targets by 2030, particularly on the access to reliable, sustainable, and affordable modern energy for all.” The Energy Ministers of the G20 countries agreed on the “Bali Compact” during September 2022 which include undertakings to invest in technology which results in lower-emission energy systems or Net Zero Emissions.
Arun CCS is a project of national significance that could make a significant contribution towards Indonesia’s emissions reduction commitments as well as being the driver for economic growth and employment both directly, and through related commercial endeavours like the manufacture of blue hydrogen and ammonia.
